Sounds crazy? Not to the designers at BMW who created, GINA - Geometry and functions In ‘N’ Adaptation - a concept car that utilizes seamless fabric stretched over a moveable metal frame that even allows the driver to change its shape at will.
Before now, commercial atomic clocks have been 100 times larger than this new model and incredibly impractical to use for general purpose.
The handy, new clock is called the CSAC (Chip Scale Atomic Clock) and is 3.8 cm in length, with a minimal 1.3 cm depth.
It owes its dramatic decrease in size to the development of new laser technology, which reduces the CSAC’s power needs to only 100 milliwatts.
Contrary to popular belief, atomic clocks are not based on the application of nuclear physics. Whereas a conventional clock relies on gears and springs to tell time, atomic clocks use lasers to measure the electromagnetic waves produced by cesium atoms.
To prevent the cesium being affected by the Earth’s natural magnetism, the atoms are contained within a two-layered shield of steel.
Atomic clocks are incredibly accurate. Across the length of a day, two clocks will remain within one millionth of a second to each other.

They are highly reliable, but seeing as the CSAC measures time to such a minute degree – so much so, it doesn’t tell you the time of the day – they’re only for the specialised buyer.
The CSAC really come into their own when GPS signals are blocked for whatever reason. Regular watches can fail in such circumstances, but CSAC clocks would continue to function and maintain their accuracy.
One important military benefit of the CSAC could be for the group of experts, why block electromagnetic and GPS signals to stops IEDs (Improvised Electronic Devices) being triggered by mobile phones.
Those who explore under the surface of the earth and sea could also profit from the CSAC. Miners and deep-sea divers often have to combat natural disruption of GPS signals. Even if teams were split up for long lengths of time, they could guarantee that they all share the same time.
These specialist, but integral, applications of the CRAC is exactly why the DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) supplied funding for its development for over ten years, before its unveiling this year.
Amazing to think that, only a century ago, a pendulum clock in France was the keeper of the most precise time on the planet. You wouldn’t want to carry those with you, when disarming insurgent explosives.
The CRAC can be purchased for around £950.

"Really, it’s just a DRSSTC. Nothing less, nothing more, nothing fancy. It was a bit tricky to make a bridge appropriately sized, and even harder to make a boost converter for it. In fact, the boost never truly worked. If I play a mid to high note for a few seconds, the boost can’t keep up and it fades away. I think this is due to saturation of my boost core, but I haven’t really taken the time to do much on this since now I’m back in the gate driver world and also have to throw together my 6.131 power electronics final project. I’ll fix hatcoil in February."

As you can see in the videos, the hologram print looks like a flat sheet of plastic on metal. Embedded on that sheet however, is over 300,000 3D views. By traveling around the print (or moving it) you see each of these hundreds of thousands of views and the parallax makes the image appear perfectly three dimensional. Zebra, however, can put those 300,000 views to an even more interesting use: combining multiple images into the same print. In the following video you’ll see how traveling around this print causes the 3D image you see to ’switch’ midway.

Richard Gryzch got really tired of going to the gas station to fill his bike every time. In fact he started hating it so much that he decided to mod a bike himself to run on solar and electric power. He also was not convinced of the idea about going to get a cool electric bike already available in the market.
His modded bike comes covered in solar panel and can reach a speed of about 90 miles per hour. It also has a range of 50 miles which he plans to increase to 300 miles. It is not clear of the bike is 100 percent solar but it certainly is a great a bike and looking at the way it works, we can say that it is really green and eco friendly.
I guess it is always nice to mod our own bikes instead of spending a lot of money on them, and buying something off the showroom. There is no information about either the price or availability.

The PD-100 Black Hornet ‘nanocopter’ is an amazing mini helicopter that comes with many features that toy helicopters don’t come with. In fact this is designed as a spy gadget which can be used by the army and since its so small, it can’t be detected easily by the enemies. The Black Hornet is controlled by the smallest and also the lightest control servo in the world.
It weighs just 0.5 grams and the electric motor helps the Black Hornet to fly at speeds of 20mph. However these will only be sold to the government and its agencies and would not be sold in public though both military and civilian versions would be released.
It would interesting to analyze how civilians could use such a spy gadget. Rather, it could even be misused and abused. Nevertheless, these Black Hornets are technological marvels and it would be nice to buy one of them, if they are ever made available.
