martin has it right - you'd have to at least put the index finder of each hand in and make sure your hands don't touch - that way you'd get the load across your chest and possibly stop your heart. Residential voltage might not even be that much, and the pain would probably make you just jerk one or both fingers out at the first zap. So practically speaking, it's really not worth it.
As a joke, it's pretty funny, though :)

Tony. i'm not sure if you understand getting electrocuted. it can be almost impossible to pull away if you have enough voltage flowing through you. i think this is unlikely to kill you but probably plausible.

To the post above.
Getting electrocuted the muscles will spasm and contract, causing you to grip the wire. As this device is not a wire, your hand would most likely slip out of the unit. While this might hurt, a lot, it most likely wont kill you unless you are grounded on another part of your body to complete the circuit across the heart.

Having electrocuted myself many a time by accident on mains, you don't get jerked away instantly (Well, I never have anyway) but it does knock you on your ass for a bit, and the momentum of you falling on your ass removes you from the mains.
Funny idea though, could breed a new generation of emo's who instead of using knives are obsessed by electricity. Best keep away from my power generators though ¬.¬
