To the Anonymous grandma: You are awesome, and you're one reason I'm (trying) to fear aging less. I know women well into their 60s who wear Lucky Jeans, capris, and ankle bracelets. Last year, I went white water rafting with a 62-year-old grandmother. These women inspire me with their travel and their love for concerts and their unabashed, unflagging love for Sex and The City. Keep doing what you're doing and the teenaged grandchildren of 2050 will be the true benefactors of your pioneering guidance. Thank you for being a role model.
I call bull on the first poster. I'm sure in your fantasies you are a hip and trendy grandmother, but in reality I am sure you are not even a legal adult.
"this blog is a fucking bullshit, only to make money. Pudrete pendejo!"
Then you just helped it make money, the joke is on you. I have just found out I am going to be a Grandmother and I am over the moon. No we aren't all that old but at some point we will be and still kicking and having fun with our grandkids I hope.
I love it. My grandma passed away in December and this totally reminds me of her. Wish I would've thought to do a photo shoot like this with her before she passed. It would've been so much fun.
Weird how emotional the comments are here. Its just a woman dressed up mugging for the camera. She seems to be having fun. The pictures are cute, though not especially inspired. The idea that this somehow means a lot seems weird to me. If she were a 6 year old, a teen, "mom age", would people be so rude about her? And as for the idea that its great to dress like and try to act like a teen when you are older (which this lady isn't doing), well, most older folks gain the wisdom and self-confidence not to be trendy and consumerist after a certain point. If wearing a certain brand of jeans is important to you sfter, say, 22, you are a sad person in my book. On the other hand, this lady looks like a happy person. Wonder where i can get a Pirate hat like that?
What I don't understand is how something as simple as a grandma having fun is causing so much controversy! Another (supposed) granny is saying its stereotypical. I didn't know it was stereotypical for a grandma to be a pirate. What is stereotypical is old people are just that: old. My own grandma can't do half these things because of how weak she is. There's nothing wrong with that. This granny is having fun, not promoting a stereotype. If anything, it disproves stereotypes.
Someone else said this website just does this to make money. So what? did you enjoy the pictures? Then who cares? Did you not enjoy the pictures? Then leave the site.
These are the most uncontrovesial pictures I've seen in a long time, and yet so many people like to start shit. I love these pictures. They rock.
As a grandfather who hates George W. Bush with all his might and prays for our deliverance from this corrupt and fascistic administration and for the election of Barack Obama, I find that this grandma is very funny and the people who attack her are damned fools who've taken their eyes off the prize.
Today I produced prodigious amounts of methane and freely shared it with my local environment.
she's nice, she's a woman,.. she likes having fun... her age, or wrinkles are irrelevant.... but if she was younger, would we even comment... probably not.... shes just a 'person' having fun.... anyway, why do we assume she is a gran.... stupid....
oh my gosh...i think the ones making a serious deal out of these photos all need to grow up...and if you think bad mouthing pictures posted on the internet that have no relevance to your personal life whatsoever, even if you are a grandma... is grown-up behavior then i think you need to rethink your deffinition of acting "mature"

Funny grandma!

> you are promulgating a hackneyed and media-driven stereotype
Which would be what, exactly? That grandmothers tend to be old? That they can make funny faces? Dial down the outrage, lady.

The only stereotype that I see this promoting is the fact that Grandmothers like to have fun too.

That's the right way to be a grandmother - and to be 157 years in this wonderful world...
July 15, 2008 at 9:21 PM
Why do pictures of someone having fun have to be scrutinized now? Who cares what age she is? She's happy. Leave it at that.
July 23, 2008 at 9:33 PM
What a wonderful set of photos.

I bought my grandmother a TravelScoot for the holiday and she loves it.
Here is a video.
http://www.travelscoot.com/demonstration.htm
It is called a TravelScoot mobility scooter and it folds up like an umbrella and weighs just
35 lbs.
She keeps it in a carry bag in her trunk. She takes it out anywhere, and starts riding it.
Now I can't get her to settle down and stay home.
She went to the mall and took the grand kids to the fair, she even took it on a vacation and
rode it through the airport.
She loves it! Many people have asked her about it and she tells them your website address.
http://www.travelscoot.com
She says it has changed her life!
I finally did something right for my grandma.
August 20, 2008 at 7:28 PM
She will intentionally blast out an epic fart in front of the new chick you're trying to impress.
She will forget your name, and hers.
She will give all her life savings to some church instead of to you.
