The mix of the seven colours are just so beautiful! Never seen such a pretty mix of rainbow and cloud! The local news referred to it as a "sundog".An ice halo saying "They form when sunlight passes through thin, cirrus clouds composed of ice crystals."

This is indeed a 'sun dog': a reflection of the sunlight in ice cloud particles. Because the different colors in the sunlight reflect slightly differently from the ice particles, you get to see the rainbow colors. The intensity of the colors depends on the size of the ice particles (usually sun-dogs are more white/yellow).
Very often there are 2 sun-dogs, one at each side of the sun (if there are ice clouds all over the place, these clouds could be so thin you hardly seen anything except for the sun-dogs).
An iridiscent cloud is seen at night: it is an ice cloud at a very high altitude that is still illuminated by the sun after the sun set. You get the same 'rainbow' colors, because the physics is the same.

Probably caused by Chem-trails airplanes spraying stuff. fiberglass does the same rainbow effect and whats whats being sprayed in the air that we breathe. http://www.californiaskywatch.com/
